Cultural Festival

On the 4th of September Burnham school attended the 30th Anniversy Cultural Festival. At 11:00 am the whole of Burnham School got on three Buses and went to the CBS Arena ready to perform. Just before we performed, we got dressed and ready to go. While we were waiting back stage we had to be quiet while the other schools did their performances. I felt excited but nervous inside. When we walked on stage it looked like there was no crowd, just cheering coming from the darkness. We were in position and everything went quiet, Joseph burst out into the strong start of our Haka. The lights felt hot and I felt sticky all over. I was amazed at the powerful sound of our Haka. Our performance was amazing. Next was the girls turn. I thought they were astonishing. I like how they handled their poi, much better than in the practices. Our song 'Reach for the Stars' was perfect. At the end, the crowd cheered and cheered like there was no tomorrow. The lights dimmed and we walked off the stage. We were so excited and felt like we did Burnham School proud. It was time to take off our puipuis amd go back to our seats to watch the rest of the show. I thought the other schools were very precise with their actions but ours was 100%. My whole day was awesome. Im looking forward to doing it all over again next year.
