Tourism in Antarctica
The debate regarding
tourism in Antarctica has been on-going for several years now. There are many
reasons why people are against it, but also many reasons why people are for it.
One of the reasons that
people are for it is because it would be nice for people to see the animals.
There are many reasons why people are against
tourism in Antarctica. One of them is the rubbish that tourists could
end up dropping. It could end up killing the Animals.
The pollution that
tourists bring to Antarctica may have a major impact on the environment. Even
if you put rubbish bins there animals could get in to them, and how would people
empty them? Did you think about the pollution from vehicles? Imagine the damage
the fumes could cause to the air, ice and the wildlife.
If you take inexperienced
people to Antarctica they could die from a number of things. They could damage
the wildlife habitats. Why would you put other peoples and animals lives at
risk? Who would do that?
Many people wish to travel
to Antarctica just to see the amazing wildlife. Examples of the wildlife
include whales, penguins and seals. The only way to see these beautiful animals
in their natural environment is to go to Antarctica. Therefore there is a need
for tourism in Antarctica.
Travelling to Antarctica
provides a unique experience that you cannot see anywhere else in the world.
Exploring this hidden gem would be incredible, an experience of a lifetime.
There are many positive
and negative arguments regarding tourism in Antarctica. Although this debate
will continue to go on for years to come, in my opinion I believe that tourists should not be allowed
to step foot on Antarctica because they could potentially cause irreversible
damage to the environment. Why should we be allowed to destroy such a beautiful
place?
